We hiked this section on March 30, 2008.
We headed up Blue Mountain and Fairway was beat after this long climb. Dirigo hiked faster today in the beginning, as she was using her new insoles. Later her feet started hurting.
We stopped at the Darlington Shelter and the picnic table was inside the shelter.
The log book was in a mailbox near the shelter. Python seems to like to take pictures of the privies along the AT. It was another nice one, as it was a 2 seater and a compost privy.
We came across an old rusty car or something that looked like a car.
There were lots of water crossings, on bridges and logs. At one point a new bridge was being built, and the old bridge , that we used, was beside it. After we crossed the bridge we went to the waters edge and there were tons of golf balls in the water.
We hiked to Scott Farm, which is an ATC crew headquarters for trail crews. The barn had a register on the side, and hiker info.
In this area, on the bridge, we saw a sketchy guy, who came up behind Dirigo, and she notice a big rock in his hand. She yelled to the others to wait, and Python also noticed the rock. He went by the 3 of us, and then started to run. WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!
We walked across a very long bridge over a swampy area, and hiked over I-81.
Near the end of our hike 2 cows came to greet us at the fence. They were very interested in Zero, and she could not have cared less.
