PA94 to Boiling Springs (8.80 Miles)

We hiked this section on March 15, 2008.

We started out today ascending and there was some high water at a bridge crossing.

We met the Hike for Discovery Group, wonderful people, at the trailhead, but actually talked with them once we got to the top of the climb.

They are raising money for Blood cancer research. We gave them $9. During their break, the hike leader was going to give them a talk on how to pee in the woods and asked if we wanted to stick around and listen (we passed).

Dirigo and Python had a fun time in a place we named PAHOOSIC NOTCH and playing on the rocks.

Also in this area, we saw 2 guys who were rock climbing. They hauled in their own mattress so if they fell they would not be killed.

Right after the notch, Maria came upon a gentleman who dropped his bike off at the end of his hike, and then he would ride it back to his van.

We hiked through many fields today which I bet would be really hot in the summer, and pretty in the fall when the corn is up. Long hiking thru the fields, and it was very hard on the feet.

We hiked by some guys fishing for trout and a restored old furnace coming into Boiling Springs.

When we got to Boiling Springs the ATC was open so we went in to look around. We sat on the bench overlooking Children's Lake and people watched.
