We hiked this section on September 16, 2007.
We spent a very cold night camping at Caledonia State Park. We tried out the stove that Amy gave us and had hamburgers, chips, and beans for dinner. We were freezing in the morning and did not want to leave our sleeping bags.
The shelters in PA are located right on the trail! We stopped at the Tumbling Run shelters to take pictures of the snoring and non-snoring shelter.
The trail was crowded up until we reached Chimney Rocks.
We met several people who were staying in one of the PATC cabin nearby and we were passed by several young boys who were hiking. Once we passed Chimney Rocks we only saw one other hiker on the AT.
At a road crossing, we came across a bike race in progress. We kept hearing a loud car racing up and down the road near the trail; very annoying!
