We hiked this section on January 1, 2007.
Good thing we wore blaze orange because there was gunshots all around us on this hike. We stopped at the Manassas Gap shelter for lunch and heard gunshots really close to us. We yelled that there were hikers at the shelter so the hunters would know there were people close by. The hunters must have heard us because the gunshots stopped after 10 minutes.
