Dunnfield creek (0.00 Miles)

Woo hoo! We finally stepped on the AT in a new state!

Well, this was actually just a scouting trip on our way home from spending Christmas in Maine (December 28, 2008). Christmas was wonderful, but the Maine weather was brutal. So, just being able to be outside was a feat in itself.

I think Zero was happy to be out of the truck. We just hiked from the Dunnfield Creek parking lot to the blue blazed Dunnfield creek trail.

When we returned to the parking lot, Dirigo wanted to hike a bit on the road to the Delaware Water Gap. But, Python was not too keen on a road walk today because it was foggy and there was one car that seemed really out of place in the parking lot.

We saw a guy in shorts get out of the car and then he used the port-a-john. After that the guy went back to his car and lit a cigarette. We did not feel comfortable leaving our truck full of Christmas presents alone in the parking lot.

We drove down to the Kittatinny Point Vistor Center, which was closed, and got out and walked around. It was very icy so walking was hard. We drove over the I-80 bridge and were welcomed into PA.
