We hiked this section on October 6, 2007.
We took Alex & Charles with us on this hike. There were lot of ups and downs, but the boys handled it well. In the beginning of the hike there was a rugged, rocky hill but we did it. The boys were proud of themselves.
We had met the Innkeeper of the Quarry Gap Shelter on a previous hike, really nice guy and a very nice shelter, we hear one of the nicest on the trail.
We went to the spring near the former Antlers Camp.
We also visited the Blacksmith shop.
Thaddeus Stevens, the famous abolitionist owned these works at the time of the Civil War. They were destroyed by the Confederate troops en route to the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863. We parked the car across the street from the blacksmith shop.
