We hiked this section on February 16, 2008.
We got a shuttle to PA 233, as the shuttle driver was dropping us off, he said "I hate to discourage you, but this is a long 5 miles." DO WE LOOK THAT PATHETIC? So, we prepared ourselves, for a long, grueling hike. It was chilly but not too bad.

We are getting ready to hike up the long grueling rocks. Zero is having fun and she is enjoying this hike. She was wearing her new coat and it was keeping her warm.

We met a guy who was very freaky after the Rocky Mountain Shelter sign. He asked if we were camping out. We didn't go down to the shelter, as it was very icy. We saw the guy's tent after we hiked down from some rock scrambles. I bet without snow, you could get your feet caught between the rocks, but not this time of year.
