We hiked this section on February 3, 2008.
This hike was just after an ice storm. The ice on the trees was melting and falling down on us. You could hear the cracking sound of the ice melting all morning long.

We met 2 hikers who had spent the entire weekend at the shelter (Quarry Gap). The hiker's truck was only 1.4 miles away from the shelter.
