We hiked this section on January 27, 2008.
We did not see anybody else on the trail that day but we did see a bunch of blood right in the middle of the trail. This hike was just after a snow storm, and people think we are crazy for winter hiking. We think it is beautiful and no bugs or snakes.
We stopped at the Birch Run shelter. We could not find the shelter log or the privy.
It was very nice walking on the snow and easy on the feet.
We hiked by the PATC Milesburn Cabin. Zero fell of the bridge leading to the cabin! Initially she did not move so we thought oh no there goes her hips. Fortunately, Zero was okay and nobody else saw her fall.
Dirigo accused Python of pushing Zero off the bridge! After the cabin was a steep ascent. Oh Crap!!! Once we got to an old road it was very icy and we couldn't get our footing, we slid all around.
