We hiked this section on February 10, 2008.
We did this hike with the AHQ Group from DC.

Indigo loved herding everyone on the hike as everyone hiked faster than us, so she would go up to the front and then back to us.
We stopped for lunch at the Toms Run Shelter. It was really cold once we stopped. Rugby, another dog on the hike, was really cold and at one point was shivering and his teeth were chattering.

Good thing Indi "Zero" had on her new coat, she would have been real cold.
There was a recent blowdown on the trail. Zero had a hard time going over it, but made it, with a few scrapes on her pack.

We hiked by an old falling down barn that was talked about in the book. We also checked out the furnace when we got back to the parking lot.
