We hiked this section on March 22, 2008.
This section was extremely flat and once again the Appalachian Trail was routed around and through various farms.
We crossed over PA 76 on a foot bridge. Fairway hung up her hammock and let us lie in it. She also showed us her stove, cooking pot, and water filter. She also waterproofed her pack. She is ready to leave for Springer Mt. in early April.
We also heard shots from a firing range all day. Dirigo saw a Heron take flight from the swamp on the top right.
Zero was not comfortable at climbing the stiles that separated the fields. At one point, Dirigo had to give Zero a boost to get her over the stairs.
Horses are not allowed on the Appalachian Trail except if the Appalachian Trail runs right through a horse farm. Two horses came up to Dirigo and allowed her to scratch them on their faces.
