We hiked to Bear Fence Parking lot on Saturday and then spent the night at Big Meadows Campground.

We went to the evening campfire talk at Big Meadows Amphitheater. The ranger gave a very interesting presentation about the CCC boys and how they built the park roads.
On Sunday, we met the Crazy Birdman from Fairfax and Pistol Packin' Patty to hike from Compton Gap to the Tom Floyd Wayside. During the drive to Compton Gap, we saw a bear!
