We stopped for lunch at Dick's Dome Shelter.

It was a very nice and interesting shelter; a great place to have freeze dried food.

We heard several gunshots during lunch.
We met 2 hunters with their rifles taking a smoke break right on the trail! They both looked cold and miserable and had not seen a deer. Fortunately, Dirigo had her orange vest but neither Zero or Python had one.

We met a fawn right next to the trail – too close for comfort! Where is his mother? Did she get shot?
We were glad when we finally reached Sky Meadows State Park because hunting is not allowed there.
