Shuckstack Fire Tower
These are the windows in the Shuckstack fire tower in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The fire tower is no longer in use but is open to the public. The tower is accessible via a short side trail off of the Appalachian Trail.
We visited the fire tower during our backpacking trip from Clingmans Dome to the Fontana Dam visitor center in July 2013. About 2 miles before the tower, we saw a momma bear and her two cubs just before Birch Spring Gap!
